PROVIDE AN INDIAN FAMILY WITH SANITATION AND DIGNITY
In a village that is home to one of the orphanages AHEC sponsors and that we were just able to visit, we have an incredible opportunity to provide lavatories to each household through a government program. The government will provide $200 towards the construction of each bathroom for every family who has the foundation done (up to 400 families). The foundation cost is $66 per family. Each family does the work on their own and then the government finishes the project. Here is a note from Pastor Jacob who is the head of the orphanage:
"In the village, almost every household started digging
pits to sink the concrete cemented rings with the hope you have given to them. Village development officer is also very much pleased after he has seen the villagers response to the help you have sacrificed. Thanks to all the donors of this project.
I am attaching few pictures of the diggings in the village for the
construction of the bathroom. (Govt.gives the measurement of each pit
hole). Next action will be setting up of the cemented rings."
The deadline for this project is March 20. We have already sent enough money for 80 families to receive bathrooms but are hoping to help this entire village. Please consider giving $66 to provide one of these families with a toilet and dignity.
Apple of His Eye Charity gets to represent the Lord on this earth by rescuing others and blessing those in need. Few things in life compare to the joy we experience when we are used by God to bless the widow, fatherless, poor and downtrodden. Here are some ways you can help.
Provide a Sewing Machine to a widow - $100
After a 6 month sewing course, each student is given her own sewing machine which provides her with a regular income. Many of these widows are homeless, have children to care for, some have AIDs and all of them are considered outcast because of their situations. The small gift of a sewing machine brings dignity to these women as they are able to support themselves and their children (or orphans they have taken in).
